What is The Indiana Anthology, and where did it come from?
It always starts with an idea and personal charge. Here we were, two independent Indiana authors. We knew we needed exposure, and we knew other independent authors needed exposure. Even authors with agents can't be guaranteed an audience for their literary works. The struggle is real, friends.
How could we help other authors?
If you're a writer, author, poet, or a creator of strings of words, you have connected with like-minded individuals. You may have banded together to create a creative collective, and that's GREAT. But how can you get your words into the world, in front of a broader audience?
An author works tirelessly to create a novel, and it may be the best novel ever, but without proper promotion, this amazing book simply fades into the background. This is why The Indiana Anthology came into being.
We are publishing an annual anthology of flash fiction and short stories authored by Indiana authors.
How are we helping local bookstores?
Times are tough for small, independent bookstore owners. We need bookstores to carry our books, and bookstores need to sell books. They also need to be able to make a profit from the books they sell.
The Indiana Anthology will be available to bookstore owners at a very reduced rate, and all proceeds in excess of the cost of printing the anthology will go directly to the shop owners who are stocking The Indiana Anthology.
